Women Leaders is thrilled to announce its support for an upcoming event to mark International Men's Day, held on November 19th. Hosted by Mosaic Fusions, this insightful event will engage business professionals from across the city in discussions and video presentations celebrating male role models.

This free event aims to showcase impactful storytelling, highlighting men who have served as role models or inspirational figures, with responses from male voices enhancing the narratives.

The underlying mission of the Women Leaders charity is to promote and champion equality, which is why trustees from Women Leaders will join event organiser Susan Popoola, CEO of Mosaic Fusions Ltd, to ignite these crucial conversations.

This year’s International Men’s Day theme is, ‘Promoting Positive Role Models,’ and while covering issues around health and equality, the main focus of the event will be to celebrate the achievements of men.

Attendees will also have access to materials designed to foster positive conversations about men and masculinity in educational and workplace settings.

Founded to champion women’s successes, Women Leaders’ core mission is to champion equality. Recognising men’s achievements and their crucial role in inspiring equality is vital to creating a diverse platform for everyone.

While reports suggest that achieving gender equality could take up to 130 years, overlooking men’s contributions would hinder our progress toward an inclusive society.

“It is our collective responsibility to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard in the fight for equality. While it might appear counterintuitive for Women Leaders to support an International Men’s Day event, it isn’t!” comments Chair of Women Leaders, Dr Julie Mills OBE DL. “As a charity, we have repeatedly said that supporting women is not anti-men. Taking the opportunity to celebrate our personal role models, those inspiring men who have played key roles in our journey is an important part of working inclusively towards gender parity. We look forward to seeing many people at this event.”

Susan Popoola, CEO of Mosaic Fusions Ltd, comments: “We are delighted to be hosting an event that recognises and celebrates the positive impact of men in our community. We must create a platform that fosters understanding and respect for diverse perspectives and I am thrilled that Women Leaders shares this ethos and is joining us. I encourage everyone to sign up and contribute to the conversation!”

The event is free to attend and will be held from 2-4 pm on Tuesday, November 19th, at Margaret Powell House, Milton Keynes. To register visit International Men’s Day: A Celebration of Men Tickets, Tue, Nov 19, 2024 at 2:00 PM | Eventbrite
