MKInnovates

About The Event

MKInnovates was set up in 2017 by the  Women Leaders UK charity as a mechanism to engage more girls and women into STEM.

A format was decided by which exciting organisations in Milton Keynes and the surrounding region were invited to take an exhibition space in Middleton Hall CentreMK and showcase the types of jobs and courses girls and women seeking a new career could aspire to attain.

Over time we have expanded our reach to all students and all adults seeking a change of career, especially targeting the underrepresented areas such as females, BAME, those from less privileged areas, disabled, and neurodiverse.

The MK Innovates STEM Festival 2023, is scheduled on 12-13 October at Unity Place, Santander, 200 Grafton Gate, Milton Keynes, MK9 1UP. This event is a unique opportunity for organisations specialised in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). offering STEM enhancement and enrichment to the targeted audience from the community, schools and colleges. showcasing technology and career types available for adults specifically towards women and younger audiences.

You will have the chance to:

Discover your next talent among the targeted audience.

Showcase your technology and current job offers.

Network with other exhibitors and make valuable connections.

Learn about the latest industry trends and developments.

With our wider reach in social media, collaborations, and partnerships with other community-based organisations, we expand our visibility of the event to a wider audience. This will help sponsors and exhibitors showcase their technology, careers, and services, increase STEM awareness, and communicate their key message to a more receptive audience.

About the event:

This year, with the support and dedication of our exhibitors, sponsors and volunteers, we are planning to deliver an inspiring and impactful STEM Festival 2023.

Event Format:

Day 1 – Welcoming adults, especially women looking for new opportunities in STEM. WE encourage organisations to bring activities, such as CV writing, interview tips, available jobs, education/awareness about their technology and why it is valuable to individuals to join your company. We would like you to bring your female employees to be role models for women who would like to work in the STEM industry and help them to see for themselves the future opportunities that can be available to them.

Day 2 – Inviting students from schools, age range 5-18, their teachers and their parents to meet industries and professional experts in STEM. Organisations will be asked to provide activities that support their STEM aspirations, encouraging students to perceive the type of opportunities and jobs that are available to them and can pursue in the future.
