MKInnovates

About The Programme

MKInnovates was set up in 2017 by the  Women Leaders UK charity as a mechanism to engage more girls and women into STEM.

A format was decided by which exciting organisations in Milton Keynes and the surrounding region were invited to take an exhibition space in Middleton Hall CentreMK and showcase the types of jobs and courses girls and women seeking a new career could aspire to attain.

Over time we have expanded our reach to all students and all adults seeking a change of career, and especially targeting the underrepresented areas such as, females, BAME, those from less privileged areas, disabled, and neurodiverse.

The next event will be held, pandemic allowing, 8-9th October 2021 in Middleton Hall, Midsummer Blvd, Milton Keynes MK9 3QA. Targeting students in Key Stages 2-5, pre and post graduates plus adults who are considering a change of career. Participating organisations, businesses and higher education institutions will offer visitors the opportunity to learn more about a range of organisations through presentations, experiments, STEM related tasks and more.

This events follows on from the Social Media Campaign run by these same organisations during National Science Week 8-12th March 2021.
