Here at Women Leaders, we decided during COVID to launch our first ever mentoring scheme for women working or living in Milton Keynes. The programme was a success and is still going strong.

We aim to support any woman within Milton Keynes, Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire who ask for support in their working life. We can provide experienced mentors either within or outside of your speciality, who will provide five sessions. Those sessions are guided by the mentor and mentee equally and can span over as long a time period as is required.

To date we have supported over 120 women and have utilised mentors from a team of over 40 – all volunteers and all dedicated to supporting and encouraging women to flourish.

We would like to encourage individuals who need our support to contact us at admin@womenleadersmk.co.uk.

We would also like businesses across the City to consider how they can help us to help their future female leaders – please contact us if you are interested in sponsoring some mentoring or indeed becoming a mentor?

In 2025 we were delighted to receive a community fund grant from Milton Keynes Community Foundation to help us to organise this service. We would like to thank them for the support to us and to the women in Milton Keynes.

Even after just two sessions, I’ve already found my experience invaluable. My mentors perspective as an experienced woman in leadership brings a level of insight and clarity that’s both refreshing and highly impactful. Access to her knowledge and guidance has been incredibly valuable, and I’m excited to continue the journey and see how this develops further.
LM
The scheme has been wonderful and very valuable to my professional development. I have gained confidence in my professional skills and learned more about how to showcase these in an interview setting. It has been wonderful having these sessions every couple of weeks as I am able to implement the advice and integrate it into my life before having an open discussion on how it went and what I learnt or will I be adapting it moving forward.
SO
Being part of the Women Leaders mentoring programme has been a really helpful experience. As someone running a small business solo, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and to quite simply not have the confidence I should. Having space to talk things through with M  has been really grounding. She has been incredibly down-to-earth and practical and has helped me look at my business with a new perspective.
KN
Working with M has been a great experience. She’s shared so much insight and practical advice around projects, ideas, and future plans for my business. Our sessions have given me a fresh perspective and confidence to take action and grow my business. Having her support, especially from someone within a similar industry, has been very helpful and valuable for me moving forward.
JF
Being part of the Women Leaders mentoring programme has been an incredibly rewarding experience. My mentor’s local knowledge and practical insights have been invaluable - she offered specific examples and tools that helped me see myself from a new perspective, recognise my strengths, and turn challenges into opportunities. I’m deeply grateful for the time, wisdom, and encouragement shared through this programme.
LK
I was part of the first cohort of mentees as part of the Women Leaders Mentoring Program. At the time, I was growing my property business and was considering raising private finance in order to grow my business. Mentoring has given me the confidence to see things from another perspective. The business has grown and we have added our first mixed use building to the portfolio with more to follow.
